Privacy policy
In effect from 2 October 2026. Changed on 5 October 2026: what you may say about yourself (age, city), what the usage reports are told about it, your emergency fund and investments, and the summary picture you can share are now named below.
PaisaPeti is a money tracker for you and your family. This page says plainly what the app keeps, why, who can see it, and how you delete it. Questions: support@paisapeti.com.
What the app keeps
- Your Google account: your name, your email address and an account id, from signing in with Google.
- What you choose to say about yourself: after you first sign in the app asks for your name, your age and your city or town. Each one is optional and the whole page can be skipped, and you can change or empty them later (Settings, your name at the top). Your age is kept as the year you were born. They are kept with your account, and nobody else in a family space sees your age or your city.
- What you write down: entries (amounts, dates, categories, the way you paid, notes), your emergency fund (about how much you spend in a month, the months you want set aside, and what is set aside), your investments (what you put in and what they are worth), fixed bills, money lent and borrowed, your own categories, your budget and the names you typed before (such as a card or an app).
- Family spaces: who is in a space you share, with each person's name and email, and who added or changed each entry.
- On your phone only: your reminder settings, which space is open, and the card, app or bank you named last (forgotten when you sign out). Your language, theme and formats are kept on the phone too, and the usage reports below say which ones you chose.
- Usage and crash reports: which screens are used and which actions are taken (for example "an entry was added"), the language, theme and formats chosen, the phone model, its system version and the app version, and details of crashes. They are tagged with your account id, so that the reports of one person can be told apart. If you said your age or your city, the reports are also tagged with your age group (such as "25 to 34", never your age or the year you were born) and with your city when it is one of the large cities the app has in its own list (any other place is counted only as "other"). They never contain amounts, notes, the names of investments, people's names or anything else you typed.
- The summary picture: "Share this summary" makes a picture of your month on your phone and opens your phone's share list. It goes only to the app and the person you pick there. We do not receive it.
Why
- To keep your money records and bring them back on any phone you sign in on.
- To call you by the name you gave, and, with your age group and city, to understand who uses the app (which ages, which cities) so that it can be made to fit them better. They are never sold or shown to advertisers.
- To share a space with the people you invite, and show who added what.
- To find and fix crashes and to learn which parts of the app are useful.
Reminders (bills due, fixed deposits maturing, a daily nudge) are planned on your phone; no server sends them.
Where it is kept and who can see it
- Your records are kept in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, in India), encrypted on the way. Firebase Authentication handles sign-in; Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics receive the usage and crash reports above. Google acts as our service provider.
- Only you can read your own space. A family space is read by the people in it, and only while they are in it. Security rules on the server check this on every read and write.
- We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone else. The app shows no ads today; if ads come, this page will say what they use before they do.
How long, and deleting it
- Your records stay until you delete them or your account.
- A deleted entry stays visible in its space, marked as deleted, so everyone sharing the space can see what was removed. It is erased with the space.
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete account. This erases every space you own with everything in it (people you shared it with lose it too, and the app warns you first), takes you out of spaces you joined, deletes the invites you sent and then your account. See how to delete your account.
- Google may keep backups for a short time before they are overwritten.
Your rights
You can see and change everything you wrote in the app, and delete it there. You can also write to support@paisapeti.com to ask what is kept about you, to correct it or to delete it.
Children
PaisaPeti is meant for adults. Someone under 18 should use it only with a parent's consent.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new one is posted here with its date, and important changes are shown in the app.
